The game-changing performance insights and analytics program has launched the next phase of KPMG Performance Insights, a personalized digital player dashboard
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., February 1, 2022 – Since the launch of KPMG Performance Insights, a game-changing technology platform that provides data insights and advanced performance analytics for the LPGA Tour, the initiative has quickly become an integral platform for the LPGA. During the 2021 season, with the support from KPMG, the Official Data and Analytics Advisor of the LPGA, over 393,000 shots from 315 different players were collected. The introduction of full-field shot-level data and advanced analytics, such as strokes gained, proximity averages and performance indexing, has given players access to critical information to diagnose and improve their performance.
Now, KPMG Performance Insights and the LPGA are excited to announce the next phase of the program, with the launch of the KPMG Performance Insights Player Dashboard. The Player Dashboard will provide each LPGA Tour player with a personalized digital insights center where they have 24/7 access to a suite of stats and data from every round. The insights will help them understand exactly where they are performing their best, where they can improve, and how they compare to other players in each statistical category. Each player will be able to analyze an individual round and evaluate their performance over time, utilizing KPMG Performance Insights to improve their game.
“The individualized analytics our players will receive via the KPMG Performance Insights Player Dashboards are another important step in helping our athletes reach their maximum potential on the golf course. The data provided will also allow us and the media to better showcase the incredible skill and athleticism of LPGA Tour players. The Player Dashboard tailors so many different aspects of the game to the players’ performance that our fans will no doubt learn so much more about our players and their incredible performances inside the ropes,” said Heather Daly-Donofrio, LPGA’s Chief Tour Operations Officer.
KPMG will also help the LPGA implement this new technology to maximize the benefits to best serve the needs of the LPGA and their other key stakeholders, including media, broadcast partners, coaches and fans. Already, KPMG Performance Insights has significantly enhanced the LPGA’s storytelling ability across all of their media outlets (social, digital, TV broadcast, etc.).
“The ability to access, process and derive insights from data are important for any organization in order to address critical business issues. We are proud that KPMG Performance Insights is accelerating access to and providing insights on the performance data that every LPGA Tour player needs to be successful,” said Shawn Quill, KPMG’s National Sports Industry Leader.
KPMG Performance Insights further illustrates KPMG’s commitment to elevating and accelerating the advancement of women in business and the sport of golf. Since the inception of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2015, KPMG has been at the forefront of identifying opportunities to enhance the women’s game, including providing network TV coverage, increased purse sizes, and top courses for the best female players to showcase their talents. The KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, held in conjunction with the Championship, is advancing more women to the C-suite. Additionally, the KPMG Future Leaders Program, funded by proceeds from the Championship and Summit, is developing future generations of women leaders through college scholarships, mentoring and leadership development. KPMG sponsors LPGA Tour athletes including Stacy Lewis, Mariah Stackhouse and Leona Maguire.
